Three decades of partnership

Citi and LISC have been partners for more than 30 years, three decades of supporting the revitalization of communities around the country.  Since 1982, Citi has provided $1.5 billion in grants, loans and equity investments to LISC and our affiliate, the National Equity Fund.  This investment has been important to a wide range of LISC’s program work.

To support affordable housing, Citi has invested $1.4 billion in single- and multi-investor equity funds with The National Equity Fund, which syndicates Low Income Housing Tax Credits to build affordable rental housing.  Nationally, grants from Citi have supported LISC’s economic development strategy, financial stability work, veterans housing program (through the BringThemHomes program), and LISC’s operations, nationally and locally.

Most recently and significantly, the Citi Foundation awarded a $10 million three year grant to LISC to expand our Bridges to Career Opportunities program, which breaks down barriers to economic mobility for unemployed and underemployed adult workers across the United States.

More recently, LISC’s offices in Los Angeles and New York City were awarded Citi Community Progress Maker grants.

“Citi is an indispensable partner for LISC. Their support has enabled us to have tremendous impact on communities and on thousands of lives across the country.”
