Buffalo LISC

Summary: Buffalo LISC (PDF)

LISC is helping reinvigorate three Buffalo neighborhoods through its Building Sustainable Communities program. On 19th Street, for instance, six long-standing vacant eyesores are being renovated into affordable, single-family homes. Local housing advocates also garnered the attention of ABCs Extreme Makeover Home Edition. The team worked with the LISC-supported lead agency, PUSH, and rebuilt a home that was featured on the show. That success inspired more than 100 additional improvement projects, from homes to community gardens. LISC-supported neighborhood projects, two new football fields and a charter school are adding to the vitality of Buffalo and the well being of its residents.
