Mid South Delta LISC

Summary: Mid South Delta LISC (PDF)

In the Mid South Delta, LISC focused its Building Sustainable Communities work on such critical needs as foreclosure prevention, efforts to help families stabilize their financial positions, and affordable housing development. With Quality-of-Life planning in the works for Greenville, Miss., and Lee Country, Ark., LISC pursued partnerships with such key organizations as the Mississippi Action for Community Education and Fannie Mae to deliver foreclosure prevention workshops to more than 1,200 at-risk households. A partnership with Youthbuild and the Delta Homeownership Initiative continued to drive the construction and rehab of affordable homes, while making a full range of housing services available—from homeownership counseling and mortgage assistance to real estate development services. In two years, 113 homes have been completed leveraging $11 million.
