Twin Cities LISC

Summary: Twin Cities LISC (PDF)

In 2009, the key work for Twin Cities LISC was integration. We began weaving together our investments and influence—dovetailing and focusing our project financing, capacity-building grants, and new AmeriCorps workers in five Building Sustainable Communities pilot neighborhoods. This translated into more robust partnerships among key neighborhood-based implementation organizations, making development more comprehensive and community-driven. It also fueled new attention to the most pressing needs in these five areas, from bringing vacant and foreclosed properties back to useful life to connecting residents with jobs and financial literacy training to making certain new mass transit plans actually improve life for residents. We’re now building on those results, helping connect people and places to broader regional opportunities and prosperity.
