Become a LISC AmeriCorps Host Site

LISC Boston invites our partners to submit an application to host a LISC AmeriCorps member for the 2018-2019 cohort which begins on October 1, 2018.

LISC Boston anticipates supporting the following positions for capacity building support for nonprofits in Massachusetts' neighborhoods:

LISC Boston invites our partners to submit an application to host an AmeriCorps member for our next program year which will begin on October 1, 2018. Members are funded through our national LISC AmeriCorps program via an application to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).  LISC Boston anticipates supporting six full-time 1700-hour, one quarter-time 450-hour, and one minimum-time 300-hour AmeriCorps positions for investment in our neighborhoods.

The LISC AmeriCorps program seeks to provide our local, community-based partners the opportunity to implement projects which they could not otherwise.  LISC AmeriCorps is one tool that helps our non-profit partners catalyze opportunity in the areas of employment, affordable housing, education, health, public safety, youth development, and building community leadership. As a partner, you will provide critical support in acting as career coaches and mentors to the individuals selected to be members. Our hope is that through these relationships and direct service members will gain valuable skills as they enter into a career in the community development field.

LISC Boston continues to expand its AmeriCorps program work to help build organizational capacity throughout Massachusetts community-based organizations. LISC AmeriCorps directly increases organizational capacity by providing additional staff resources and builds the capacity of the field overall by bringing new people into the Massachusetts community development field.

LISC Boston is highly interested in supporting organizations that will utilize AmeriCorps members in initiatives that support comprehensive community development and see the program as a way to develop new initiatives, increase collaborative efforts of partners in targeted neighborhoods and engage in innovative approaches to working with residents to solve community problems in the areas noted above. In the selection of our host/ partner sites, preference will be given to organizations that demonstrate a greater cross-integration of programs and objectives and are in LISC targeted neighborhoods.
