The Buffalo Green Code’s Land Use Plan is designed to provide a framework for decision-making about physical development. It outlines the community’s expectations and preferences regarding future development.
Announced in 2017, the State of New York will be investing over $50Million into economic development projects on the East Side of Buffalo with a strong emphasis on commercial corridors including Jefferson Avenue and Michigan Street.
Starting in 2020, the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works will be investing a minimum of $13Million into streetscape, sidewalk and traffic pattern improvements along Main Street from Goodell Street to Kensington Avenue.
Greater Buffalo Niagara Regional Transit Council (GBNTRC) and the NFTA completed a Comprehensive Transit-Oriented Development Plan in 2018 with plans for development along the MetroRail train line, particularly at the Main/Utica and Summer/Best Stations. See here for the plan.
