It's been an exciting year in Buffalo for LISC and NEF, with two major historic conversion projects currently under construction. We're excited to be working with our partners to transform vacant buildings into affordable housing opportunities on Buffalo's East and West Sides.
Located adjacent to HELP USA’s first affordable housing project on Broadway and Hickory, HELP Buffalo II will include 47 units of affordable housing for low income families and formerly homeless veterans. Amenities include a community room with warming kitchen, on-site laundry and parking, children’s playground and outdoor garden space.
Location: Broadway Fillmore Neighborhood
Partners: HELP USA, NEF, NYSHCR, OTDA, BURA, NYSERDA, FHLB of NY, Citi Foundation
LISC/NEF Contribution: $7.4M
PUSH’s largest project to date will transform a formerly vacant Buffalo public school into a community hub that includes 30 units of affordable housing for seniors, facilities for three local non-profits, recreational space, and an auditorium for theatrical productions, arts programming and community events.
Location: West Side
Partners: PUSH Buffalo, NEF, NYSHCR, RP Oak Hill Building Company, Inc.
