LISC National

About Us

LISC came to Connecticut in 1984, establishing the Hartford LISC program. In 2000, the Connecticut Statewide LISC program was launched to expand LISC’s services across Connecticut.

Connecticut Statewide LISC promotes neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing production by providing financial and technical assistance to local, community-based organizations, working to build strong and sustainable communities. Connecticut Statewide LISC works with local partners and investors to:

  • Increase the supply of quality affordable rental and owner-occupied housing in all communities, where residents can stabilize their incomes and build income and assets for the future.
  • Improve quality of life in urban neighborhoods by eliminating blight, creating healthy housing and environments, and improving public safety.

Connecticut Statewide LISC is part of a leading national organization with strong local roots. Program staff offer years of experience with in-depth knowledge of Connecticut and are able to leverage the resources of National LISC. The Connecticut Statewide LISC program is guided by the Local Advisory Committee composed of LISC’s funders, investors and opinion leaders.

Since 1984:

  • LISC has invested $77 million in Connecticut and,
  • has leveraged over $800 million of community development investment statewide.
