Better Lighting, Design Can Improve Neighborhoods
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Residents in the city's northeast side are taking on an initiative to fight crime and clean up the neighborhood.
Police said good environmental design can help prevent crime, such as using more efficient lighting and landscaping.
Officer Jason Cooley has been telling residents and business owners along Independence Avenue about how to improve the appearance of buildings.
