Overview

Remediation and reuse of vacant properties remains a core strategy in redeveloping communities that are economically vibrant and offer a competitive quality of life. Join this two-part training session to learn more about how to take vacant property reclamation to scale. The series provides an opportunity to explore both comprehensive remediation strategies and critical issues that is important to local environments. National experts will provide an opportunity for interactive problem solving with the participants.

Session 1: Tools in the Vacant Properties Success Kit: The Birds Eye View

Participants will learn how to:

  1. Identify and assess tools that are critical to remediation of multiple vacant properties
  2. Develop comprehensive strategies and key partnerships given local market conditions
  3. Use financial mechanisms for management and redevelopment of distressed properties
  4. Understand the fundamentals of land banking
