Webcast Event - July 14, 2010; 2:00 - 3:00 PM (EDT)

Overview

Organizing residents and business owners to work with police to address persistent crime problems is essential to making neighborhoods safe in the long run. It is also notoriously difficult. Distrust between community members and police and fear of retaliation can be major barriers to collaboration. In some neighborhoods, cultural and linguistic differences between officers and community members—or between different groups within the community—add to the challenge.

This webcast will feature three community development leaders who have tackled these challenges and achieved remarkable results. Please join us for the discussion
