2009 Detroit Community Development Awards

This year's awards include:

2009 CDC OF THE YEAR AWARD
Nominees for the 2009 CDC of the Year Award should be Community Development Corporations (CDCs) that have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make a demonstrable and measurable difference in the community through the development of housing and/or commercial projects, facilitation of successful programs to enhance the quality of life for residents, providing a forum for the community to discuss neighborhood issues and work together to build a safe and healthy environment for families.

2009 COMMUNITY CHAMPION AWARDS
Detroit LISC is honoring the extraordinary lengths that ordinary citizens will go to protect, preserve, and enhance their neighborhoods. Working and volunteering hundreds of hours, these are the individuals and organizations making a difference in the Detroit community. For the individuals category, community judges will select one winner in each of the following five Detroit areas – Central Woodward • East • Northeast • Northwest • Southwest. For the organizations category, community judges will select three winners city-wide in Detroit.
