The Mallison Park football field is a great example of the big payback from having an NFL team.
A $100,000 grant from the NFL Youth Football Fund and the Local Initiatives Support Corp. enabled the Westside park's operator, the Police Athletic League of Jacksonville, to add new lights, install a new irrigation system, replace existing sod and grade the field, a news release from the Police Athletic League said.
