Betty Tamm, executive director of the Umpqua Community Development Corp., one of Rural LISC's CDC partners in Oregon, is interviewed in Affordable Housing Finance magazine.

When she joined the group in 1996, it had just 30 housing units and two employees. Today, Umpqua CDC boasts more than 400 units, with more in the pipeline, and 40 employees.

But the numbers don't tell the whole story. The nonprofit organization has been behind some of the area’s most innovative developments in the area, including breathing new life into old buildings like Roseburg's Grand Hotel, a building that sat empty for 45 years.
