The special ceremonies celebrating the $200,000 NFL grant award for new synthetic turf, will be held at the site of the new York Comprehensive High School and Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center, 275 East Alexander Love Highway.Only 17 high schools in the United States qualified for the NFL LISC grant award. There were several factors weighing in York District One's favor while competing with Philadelphia and other cities across the country, noted YCHS principal Diane Howell.
