Milwaukee LISC believe that a vibrant, sustainable neighborhood is one in which all the physical and social needs of residents are met. When this happens, the result is a high quality-of-life and a place where people choose to live. Our vision rests in the belief that Community Development Corporations are the most appropriate vehicles for implementing neighborhood programs because they are neighborhood-based. To make this vision a reality, Milwaukee LISC’s goals are:

  • Increase the effectiveness of Community Development Corporations (CDCs) in planning, financing and managing projects to more effectively achieve their community goals by providing training, technical assistance and financial resources to these organizations
  • Support neighborhood-based programs in wealth creation that bring not only people and jobs but also equity and assets to central city neighborhoods
  • Recruit private sector investors to support the community development projects of CDCs
