Project Profile:
Investing in Sustainable Community Development: Place Matters, an initiative formed in late 2005 between LISC, the United Way, the Greater Cincinnati Foundation and the SC Ministry Foundation to support the comprehensive redevelopment of targeted neighborhoods, began implementation in 2006. Three communities - Avondale and Price Hill in Cincinnati, and Covington in Kentucky – were selected, and program plans were created. GCNK LISC committed $250,000 in HUD Sec. 4 funds and will manage the CDC and real estate development elements of the program. The United Way also made an additional commitment of $900,000 over three years, and new funding partners, PNC Bank and NeighborWorks America, were added.
