Project Profile:
Innovative partnerships and improving healthy lifestyles: Detroit LISC continued the Metro Detroit Regional Investment Initiative (MDRII) to address social and economic inequities between neighborhoods and the suburbs. One of the projects in this program is the Detroit-Grosse Point Collaborative, which provides arts and educational programs to bridge the gap between inner city neighborhoods and the wealthy suburb of Grosse Point. The Collaborative has developed a curriculum for middle-schools students with Pewabic Pottery, an organization dedicated to ceramic arts, arts education, and the preservation of crafts.
