Fannie Mae
Fannie Mae believes that corporate giving should further its mission of working with its partners so that they can help more families achieve homeownership and affordable rental housing. Fannie Mae believes that employee involvement, volunteerism and the development of future leaders in the field are integral parts of investing in communities. And it believes that by joining corporate giving with our business initiatives, along with the enthusiastic participation of our employees and community leaders, it will have the greatest possible impact in our communities, allowing us to achieve our mission.
Fannie Mae's Office of Community and Charitable Giving aligns investments in the community toward several key areas, including:
- Addressing the nation's housing challenges through housing and community development initiatives.
- Advancing efforts to prevent and end homelessness in America.
- Building thriving neighborhoods in the District of Columbia through investments in housing, education, preventing and ending homelessness.
These investments constitute a powerful tool that helps Fannie Mae meet its responsibility to be a good corporate citizen.
Since 1987, Fannie Mae has been a critical partner, providing LISC with more than a billion dollars in grants and loans to LISC and equity investments through our National Equity Fund affiliate. Over the course of our partnership, Fannie Mae has helped propelled LISC and the industry forward. It has supported the work of 15 local LISC programs and national initiaties and has helped us spearhead new activities that broaden ours’ and the industry’s agenda as well as to tackle the difficult inevitable crises that confront low-income communities.
