Overview
While all localities seek practical strategies to reuse vacant properties as a component of community revitalization, it is clear that some cities have been especially successful in implementing successful, replicable tools to restore vacant and abandoned places. One core strategy is using codes, ordinances, and policy to drive remediation. Join national experts Joe Schilling and Doug Leeper to learn proven techniques that are being used in cities across the country. Our conversation will include both a toolkit of ideas that can be adapted to any community and also a discussion of specific cities that are at the cutting edge of policy reform. Participants will receive practical tips from national experts who have led local code and regulatory improvements. The session will include substantial time for questions and answers, and links will be provided for additional information.
