Access to quality, affordable health care is a particular challenge for low-income residents. Last year Detroit LISC worked to close that gap by helping Community Health and Social Services (CHASS) open a $17 million state-of-the-art health care center and administrative facility in Southwest Detroit, an area where many residents are uninsured or on Medicaid.
