In partnership with The Alliance for Healthy Homes (AFHH) -- a national nonprofit public interest organization working to prevent and eliminate hazards in our homes that can harm the health of children, families, and other residents --
LISC conducted a web conference that discussed hazards from lead to mold and how to create communities with healthy homes. Featuring experts from ERT Associates, an environmental and health policy consultancy, and Urban Edge, a CDC working in Jamaica Plain, Roxbury and surrounding communities in Massachusetts, Bob Zdnek, executive director for AFHH led a discussion on everything from primary prevention by publicizing the importance of fixing housing-related health hazards before they cause poor health and impaired educational outcomes for children to practical solutions by identifying accessible, affordable tools that can make and keep every home healthy.
