This brochure contains guidelines intended to help you develop a sound maintenance plan for your new or refurbished football field.
Background
In 1998, the National Football League (NFL) and NFL Players Association (NFLPA) formed the NFL Youth Football Fund (YFF) — a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that uses football as a catalyst to promote positive youth development, supports youth and high school football needs, and ensures the health of grassroots football in future generations. That same year, the YFF joined forces with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) to refurbish community football fields through the NFL Grassroots field grant initiative. Since the program's inception, over 150,000 youngsters have benefited from the YFF's contribution of more than $15 million to refurbish 135 community football fields and facilities in underserved neighborhoods nationwide.
