Access to healthy foods and neighborhood food markets is an area of increasing interest to community developers. As local leaders develop vibrant neighborhoods, the availability of quality foods and the potential for food-related economic development is an important component of sustainable communities. This webcast explored the relationship of food systems to neighborhoods and examples of current work in low income communities. National experts and local practitioners discussed the interconnections between food and development with specific examples of on-the-ground initiative es in neighborhoods across the country. This was an interactive session with participant questions and comments.
