Growing Smart Neighborhoods is a series of primers on smart growth topics that are of interest to neighborhoods and community development practitioners. Each primer is designed to provide basic background information, examples, and resources to community developers who want to have a better working knowledge of smart growth and identify local opportunities. The first in this series is Transit Oriented Development (TOD), which describes the role of transit centers in neighborhood revitalization and provides examples of innovative transit projects that are part of larger neighborhood-based efforts.
