Apply Now for the Inaugural Class of Oramenta Newsome Community Development Fellows!

LISC is launching the Oramenta Newsome Community Development Fellowship, a 10-week, part-time, paid fellowship opportunity to get hands-on experience working on community development projects.

Throughout her life, Oramenta Newsome balanced a deeply rooted neighborhood orientation with a national perspective. As LISC DC’s Executive Director for nearly 25 years, she dedicated decades to making Washington, D.C. a global city that benefited neighborhood residents.

The Inaugural Class of Newsome Fellows will be placed at one of LISC’s nonprofit partner organizations and will work on affordable housing, resident engagement and/or workforce development initiatives.

If you are a college student, recent graduate, or are in the early stages of your career and have exhibited a keen interest in the community development field, then you should apply.

If you share Oramenta’s vision for Washington, DC to be inclusive, community-driven, and equitable, then you should apply.

If you are comfortable engaging in advocacy, working in coalitions, and talking to DC residents in LISC’s Elevating Equity neighborhoods, then you should apply.
