LISC’s goal is to promote neighborhood revitalization through community-based
development. Hartford LISC assists CDCs in maximizing their positive impact on
Hartford
neighborhoods by providing financing and quality technical resources. The
Hartford LISC 
neighborhood revitalization strategy focuses on the following
objectives:

Promote quality physical development,
- Build on unique architectural and cultural assets,
- Encourage block-wide development strategies,
- Expand homeownership opportunities,
- Stimulate private investment in neighborhoods, and
- Facilitate resident participation in neighborhood development through CDCs.
By targeting multiple development efforts on strategic blocks and by sustaining these efforts over time, CDCs are demonstrating that distressed neighborhoods can be transformed into beautiful, thriving communities.
Hartford LISC provides financing and technical assistance through a variety of programs for CDCs.
