AmeriCorps Program

 LISC AmeriCorps Programs

The mission of the LISC AmeriCorps program is to transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy communities by placing AmeriCorps Members with Community Development Corporations (CDCs).

RFP Launch:
Attention all CDCs and CBOs - we will release the AmeriCorps RFP in February. If you are interested in hosting an AmeriCorps member at your agency Sep 2012 - Aug 2013, check back February 15th for the RFP application.

Info Session Conference Call:
After releasing the RFP on February 15th,  we will host an info session to review the application process and the LISC AmeriCorps Program via conference call  on March 1st  at 2pm for those agencies who are new to Houston LISC's AmeriCorps program.

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is dedicated to helping nonprofit Community Based Organizations (CBO) and Community Development Corporations (CDC) transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy, sustainable communities of choice and opportunity- good places to work, do business, and raise families. LISC’s Sustainable Communities Goals are to develop, preserve and invest in the physical environment; build family income and wealth; stimulate local and regional economic activity; improve access to quality education; and develop livable, healthy, and safe environments. LISC is currently supporting two neighborhoods transform with this comprehensive, collaboration-driven approach through the Great Opportunities (GO) Neighborhoods Program.
