NFL Foundation Grassroots Community Football Field RFP

We’re excited to announce the NFL Foundation Grassroots Community Football Field Program Request for Proposals. The NFL Foundation and LISC provide non-profit, neighborhood-based organizations with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields. Grants of up to $250,000 will be awarded for eligible capital improvement projects.

You can see the impact of past NFL Grassroots grants transforming athletic fields across Kansas City – places like Boys & Girls Club, Central High School, Bishop Ward, Northeast High School, and most recently in 2017, University Academy. Since 1999, over $2 million in NFL Grassroots grants have been awarded to 14 athletic fields in the metro.

Parks and ball fields can serve as tremendous community assets because they offer opportunities for recreation, education, and relaxation that contribute to the local quality of life, especially for young people. Since 1998, the NFL Foundation Grassroots Program has awarded more than $43 million in grants for more than 320 projects in more than 70 cities across the country.

LISC will host a “Get in the Game” informational webinar; on August 9, 2017 for prospective applicants to go over the threshold requirements of the NFL Grassroots Program and answer any questions related to the RFP.

Deadline for receipt of proposals is October 16, 2017.
