A group of Douglass-Sumner residents and officials called the “Friends of JFK” are have planned new programming for the JFK Community Center. Better use of the center to benefit residents is a goal in the neighborhood’s Quality of Life Plan. So far they have determined that classes around fitness, wellness and nutrition, tutoring for young students and community meeting space are top-of-the-list needs. Once all programming has been identified, the group will work with the Department of Parks and Recreation to implement their plans.
