CD2000 Builds CDC Capacity
In 2000, Greater Kansas
City LISC created a results-oriented approach to building the organizational
capacity of community development corporations (CDCs) called Community Development 2000 (CD2000). As
the primary component of Kansas City Community Development Initiative (KCCDI), CD2000’s goal was to help
bi-state CDCs improve their performance and effectiveness
in housing production and program administration.
CD2000 was recognized in 2002 by National LISC as a Best Practice program. Support to CDCs was based upon assessment, strategic planning and measurable outcomes.
Under CD2000, participating CDCs became better small
businesses.
