Identity campaign wins Philly Award

Greater Kansas City LISC recently won a coveted Philly Award in the Identity Campaign category for our NeighborhoodsNOW branding effort. “We are thrilled to receive this honor – not only because it is a ‘first’ for LISC but also it elevates the mission and purpose of NeighborhoodsNOW in the community,” said Terri Mueller, director of development and public relations, who accepted the award on behalf of LISC.

Sponsored by Nonprofit Connect, The Phillys recognize the hard work and creativity of nonprofit staff and the ad/PR agencies that help them achieve their missions in 12 categories of print, online and digital media. The award was presented to Mueller and her associates at the 17th Annual Philanthropy Midwest Conference. Nearly 600 non-    profit staff, board members, civic leaders and funders from Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and the surrounding region  attended the conference and awards lunch.

Launched in 2006, the award-winning identity campaign positioned NeighborhoodsNOW as a stand-alone program with a familial look and feel to the national LISC brand. The new strategy included a program mission state-ment, a new logo and colors, signage and collateral materials. The LISC wave was leveraged on most materials as a visual tie that reflects LISC branding as well as the NeighborhoodsNOW logo.

Reppe Design created the NeighborhoodsNOW logo and the collateral materials, including the newsletter, brochure, Quality of Life Plans and various templates for turnkey design. Mershon & McDonald assisted with strategy and message development.

As a result, NeighborhoodsNOW is becoming a recognized presence in urban core revitalization and has raised more than $10 million to transform promising urban-core neighborhoods into sustainable communities.
