Moment #23: SCANPH Conference - Affordable Housing 101 Workshop
LA LISC, in partnership with LISC San Diego, presented an informative workshop to teach not only about core details of the affordable housing development process, but also what soft skills and leadership qualities are necessary to move a project forward. Affordable Housing 101: What Every Project Manager Wished they Knew Before Their First Deal was presented at the 2017 SCANPH Conference in September and featured presentations and valuable insights from experts in our field including Denice Wint (IHO), Daniel Huynh (LA Family Housing), Allison Riley (PATH Ventures), Dana Trujillo (Skid Row Housing Trust), Malen Rodriguez (Hollywood CHC), Deb Burkart (NEF), Amy Anderson (PATH Ventures), Isela Gracian (ELACC), and Tara Barauskas (Community Corporation of Santa Monica). This workshop also discussed the importance of an organization’s mission in affordable housing development, and the role affordable housing development plays in the wider context of community and economic development.Â
