Local Advisory Committees

The Local Advisory Committee (LAC), somewhat similar to a board or advisory group, is comprised of various members of the community including representatives from business, lenders, local governments, non-profit entities, foundations, the real estate community and neighborhood organizations.

The LAC focuses its efforts on collecting and analyzing housing data, establishing housing priorities, educating the community and influencing public policy on housing issues, developing programmatic responses to local housing and commercial development needs, and raising funds.  Another major activity of the LAC is to provide technical assistance and training to strengthen CDCs and increase their productivity and business systems.

National LISC is governed by a Board of Directors, currently chaired by former-Secretary of the Treasury, the Honorable Robert E. Rubin.
