George Miles - Executive Director

George Miles is the Executive Director of Mid South Delta LISC. He brings almost 20 years of experience in community development finance, and mortgage banking to this position. Mid South Delta LISC provides comprehensive community development financial services to a 55 county area of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Prior to joining LISC, George was the Executive Director of Community Development Capital, a New Orleans-based affordable housing loan fund. From 1992-2002, George worked for Fannie Mae in Washington, DC specializing in single family mortgage product development and credit risk structuring. Additionally, he has worked in banking as a commercial loan officer.
An Arkansas Delta native, George holds a MBA from Tulane University, a certification from the Graduate School of Banking of the South at LSU, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Political Science from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
David Jackson - Senior Program Officer
David Jackson is the Senior Program Officer for the Mid South Delta Program of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in the state of Mississippi. Mr. Jackson was formerly with Delta Housing Development Corporation in Indianola, MS where he served in the capacity of Deputy Director/Rental Housing Coordinator.
He has more than twenty years of experience involving nonprofit organizations, including as an Accountant and Rental Housing Coordinator of Delta Housing Development. He currently serves as a board member of the Indianola School District and Mid Delta Workforce Alliance. He is also secretary of the Board of Sunflower County E911 Commission and Vice President of the Board of Sunflower County Education Foundation.
David was born and grew up in Indianola, Mississippi. He is the youngest of six boys in a family of ten children. He received a B.S. Degree in Accounting from the Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi.
Andy Saavedra - Program Officer
Andres L. "Andy" Saavedra is a new Program Officer with Mid-South Delta LISC responsible for activities within Northeast Louisiana, and the new Delta Homeownership Imitative. Andy has also done consulting for various non-profits in housing development. Andy was previously the Housing and Community Development Director of the Northeast Louisiana Delta Community Development Corporation (NELDCDC) from 1999 to 2001. Andy oversaw NELDCDC’s Housing Division. He was responsible for the development of single-family and multi-family housing, and housing rehabilitation, and Individual Development Account (IDA) programs. Tasks also included development activities such as: writing applications for funding from Federal and state programs and foundations; marketing, organizing, and teaching homebuyer education courses; credit counseling and packaging of loan and grant applications.
Andy was formerly a Housing Specialist with the Housing Assistance Council, a national CDFI based in Washington, DC, from 1994-1999. He performed tasks involved with HAC's revolving loan fund, including underwriting and servicing both predevelopment and construction loans and administered HAC's $2 million Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) Loan Fund. He also provided technical assistance to non-profits in developing and carrying out housing programs, and co-authored successful applications for $24.3 million in HUD funds for self-help housing development under the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP).
Andy has a Jurist Doctor and a Certificate in Law and Public Policy from the Catholic University of America.
Latah Holloway - Program Assistant
Latah is a Program Assistant and joined the staff of the Mid South Delta LISC in 2005. She worked in human rights projects in Mississippi during her employment with the Mississippi Workers’ Center for Human Rights as a field organizer. Latah attended Northeast Louisiana University and worked for the City of Greenville in administration for 25 years.
Latah was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and has called Greenville her home since 1970. She serves as secretary for the St. Matthew Church Community Development Corporation and and local Laymen Organization. Latah has one son and enjoys league bowling, outdoor activities and traveling during her spare time.
Chontina Jarmon - Senior Administrative Assistant
Chontina joined the LISC staff in March of 2001. Chontina was formerly with Mississippi Action for Community Education, Inc. (MACE) in Greenville, MS where she served as Administrative Assistant for the Department of Planning and Development for five years. She currently serves as Secretary for the Winterville Water Association, committee member for Mainstreet Greenville, Assistant Secretary at her church, and Advisory Member of the Mississippi Delta Blues & Heritage Festival.

Chontina was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Winterville, MS. She received a Secretarial Training Certificate from Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, MS. She also attended the Tougaloo College Delta Leadership Program in Jackson, MS, and is currently working on an Associate Degree in Computer Technology and Management. She is very active in her community and church. Chontina has one son and in her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, shooting pool, and spending time with her family and friends.
