Policy Analyst
The Citizens Housing and Planning Council of New York (CHPC) is seeking a full time Policy Analyst. This is a full-time, salaried position with health, vacation, and retirement benefits.

CHPC is a private, non-profit,
non-partisan policy research organization which brings together leading
experts in the fields of housing, urban planning, finance, development,
architecture, law, and social policy who are dedicated to improving housing and
neighborhood conditions through the co-operative efforts of the public and
private sectors.
What you can expect…
Working closely with the
Executive Director, other staff, members of CHPC’s Board of Directors, and
outside consultants, the policy analyst will carry out long-term research
projects, prepare short analyses of urban issues and government programs, and
provide quantitative and analytical support to issue-specific committees.

We are looking for a candidate
with the following qualities and skills:
- Enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity for public policy and public service, especially in relation to housing, urban planning, and zoning Proven research, analysis, and problem-solving skills Ability to think creatively and with personal initiative Superior written and oral communication skills Excellence in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Experience in STATA (or other statistical processing software) and ArcGIS are strongly preferred Project management skills and experience Enjoys working in a small team
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold
a graduate degree in a field related to urban affairs, such as urban planning,
economics, business administration, public policy, or public
administration.
