Construction Trades Instructor

HCCI is committed to the holistic revitalization of Harlem and is providing economic development and empowerment opportunities to help Harlem residents rebuild their community.

BACKGROUND:    
The Construction Trades Academy (CTA) is a comprehensive work-based job training program dedicated to training community residents in the construction trades through the cooperative effort of General Contractors, community development corporations (CDC’s), public and private funders, and community stakeholders.  Participants are recruited and screened, attend orientation and enter a six-month training program. Students commit to attend classes where they will receive instruction in construction and basic academics (GED preparation, ESL training), job readiness skills (workplace social skills, time management, effective communication), career guidance, computer skills and basic financial literacy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:        
The Instructor works under the supervision of the Director of Human Capital Development. Responsibilities will include:

SALARY:                        
$40,000 Negotiable, depending upon experience and qualifications.
