Belmont Arthur Avenue Local Development Corporation was incorporated in 1983. Efforts to stabilize its community began as the City foreclosed on over 100 properties within the neighborhood surrounding Belmont and Arthur Avenues. The organization rehabilitated thirty of these buildings through a variety of programs administered by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, including: the Community Management program, 7A Administrator Program, Private Ownership Management Program and the LISC Production Program. Today, BAALDC manages almost 3,000 units in over 60 buildings in Community Boards 4 and 6 in the Bronx.
