ABOUT US

Strategic Vision

Core Values

LISC’s business is community revitalization, broadly conceived.  We pursue that goal by investing in four general areas:

Four Areas of Work

We believe:

Strategic Goals 2001 - 2005

TARGET 1
Sustain and strengthen national and local effort on LISC’s two areas of established excellence:  creating and preserving affordable housing, and building the organizational capacity of CDCs.

TARGET 2
Raise economic development to priority status in LISC’s local and national program.

TARGET 3
Continue investing in research and development, both national and local, especially in areas beyond housing.

TARGET 4
Focus program expansions primarily on the states and metropolitan areas where we are already working, to build on experience and partnerships in those areas.

TARGET 5
Strengthen national administrative and information systems to support LISC’s program growth and new directions.

TARGET 6
Undertake a complete review of LISC’s sources and uses of capital, including an exploration of new sources of support and operating revenue.

TARGET 7
Make a definitive case for the value of community development.
