CHAM's mission is to better enable community-based organizations and others in the nonprofit housing industry to responsibly own and professionally manage affordable rental housing. CHAM is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a program of activities in response to the challenges unique challenges managing aging properties and increasingly complex portfolios. Managers of these organizations need highly specialized skills to keep these properties economically viable over the long term. CHAM supports these efforts in a variety of ways:

At CHAM, we help promote the long-term financial viability and sustainability of affordable housing. How do we accomplish this? Through a variety of initiatives, including:

  • Delivery of high quality training curriculum and webinars to bolster the capacity of Asset Management professionals to improve project and portfolio performance
  • Offer a professional designation, called the Certified Housing Asset Manager™, to recognize those Asset Management professionals that have achieved the highest levels of performance
