$10 Million Citi Foundation-LISC Partnership Will Ready Workers for 21st-Century Jobs

An exciting new commitment from Citi Foundation will ramp up LISC’s Bridges to Career Opportunities program and help some 10,000 American workers get the training and support they need to take on quality jobs in growth industries like health care and solar energy. The funding will enable 40 community organizations across the country to intensify their Bridges work, connecting residents to skills development and jobs, along with financial, health and housing services that improve quality of life.

New SIF Grant Focuses on Pay for Success

LISC will help social services providers take advantage of new funding programs that pay for positive outcomes, thanks to a grant from the Social Innovation Fund. The grant is one of only three Pay for Success awards SIF announced this week—two to academic institutions and one to LISC.

LISC wins $11MM from SIF to build basic job skills

A growing job market is a boon to families and communities—unless you don't have the basic math and reading skills to take advantage of it. The federal Social Innovation Fund is helping address that educational gap with a new $11.3 million grant to LISC for Bridges to Career Opportunities, a program that helps people lay the groundwork for earnings growth by addressing some fundamental challenges around basic literacy. It's part of the broad work of LISC's Financial Opportunity Centers to help low-income families stabilize their financial outlook and build for the future.
