Walmart Foundation Teams Up with LISC to Expand Equitable Food Access and Fuel Community-Based Nonprofits

In collaboration with the Walmart Foundation, LISC announced funding to help eight community-based nonprofits increase access to healthy, affordable food in under-resourced communities. Located primarily across the Southeast region, grantees will undertake efforts ranging from farmer-led urban agriculture to mobile food markets to the establishment of a community food policy council.

Wells Fargo Foundation Awards $7.5 Million to LISC Houston to Expand Homeownership for Families of Color

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and local elected officials joined LISC Houston and the Harris County Homeownership Collaborative, or HCHC, on September 6th to announce the launch of a new initiative to expand homeownership opportunities for Black, Hispanic, and other underserved individuals and families.

Foot Locker, Inc. & LISC Announce Funding for 16 Organizations Focused on Advancing Health, Wealth, & Upward Mobility in BIPOC Communities

The first round of grants through the $3 million Foot Locker Foundation Community Empowerment Program will help bridge gaps in racial equity with support for mentorship, career development, and civic engagement programs for youth.

Announcing the LISC Rapid Relief and Resiliency Fund

LISC is taking swift action in response to the coronavirus pandemic, to mitigate economic impact on residents in the hundreds of communities where we work. We are launching the LISC Rapid Relief and Resiliency Fund to assemble and deploy resources to our local partners, small businesses and residents who are being hit hardest. The Fund will deliver operating capital, emergency subsidies and IT support, as well as technical assistance, to keep our partners and their communities strong and functioning through this unprecedented situation.
