LISC’s SchoolBuild Wins Award for Innovation in Digital Experience

A good school is critical for the success of our children and the communities where they live. That’s why we created SchoolBuild, the first-ever online guide to help charter schools learn what it takes, and how much it costs, to build a school.  And now, SchoolBuild has been recognized with an Excellence in New Communications award by the prestigious Conference Board and the Society of New Communications Research.

On Tuesday evening, LISC headed to the 2018 Excellence in New Communications Awards hosted by Conference Board and the Society for New Communications Research (SNCR). On the agenda? Pick up the award for Innovation in Digital Experience, Nonprofit Division for our online tool SchoolBuild, an online portal that supports charter schools throughout all stages of their facility projects.

The Excellence in New Communications Awards, now in its 12th year, highlights communications work that utilizes innovative digital technologies to help achieve a company’s mission. “Not only are these organizations putting technology to use, but they’re also adept at measuring their results,” said Alex Parkinson, senior researcher and director of SNCR.

SchoolBuild was created to be a one stop shop for charter schools, no matter their stage of facility development. The best public charter schools have been hotbeds of innovation, offering high quality educational opportunities in underinvested communities. But those who can create schools with rich programming often need support from experts in real estate development and finance. Our work looks to bridge the gap between educators and the tools they need to succeed and we are proud that the importance of this undertaking was recognized by The Conference Board and SNCR.

Congratulations to our Charter School team for all their hard work!
