What We Do

Creative Placemaking

We believe that supporting creative spaces brings a social, physical, and economic impact to a community. From time to time, we support projects that enhances the places where we invest.

Greater Peoria LISC has supported the following placemaking projects:

  • East Bluff Build It Up Sculpture
  • Faces of the East Bluff, mural by Keith Cotton
  • Prominent Women in History, mural by Brenda Gentry
  • NAACP mural by R. Rashad Reed
  • West Main mural
  • Western Avenue mural by R. Rashad Reed, assisted by Brenda Gentry
  • Wisconsin Avenue mural
The love that you have for this community - and for the people of this place - gives all of us a great deal of pride that we carry every single day.
— Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth, Illinois 92nd District, Western Ave. Mural Dedication
