Technical Assistance

| LISC Philadelphia works with local CDCs and provides technical assistance in a range of areas. |
It is a core belief of LISC that grassroots, community-based organizations
are the agents best able to revitalize neighborhoods in a comprehensive,
sustainable way that will most benefit the people who live there. LISC works to
make these organizations as effective as they can be, by partnering with them
throughout their development, advising them, and helping to plug them into our
local network of contacts. With our long history in Philadelphia, we can not
only draw upon the national experiences of LISC, but also our successes here, in
helping our CDC partners to build their own capacity.
LISC program
staff stay in constant touch with all of our CDCs, providing this
technical assistance as needed. It often includes helping an organization to complete the following tasks:
- Enhance management capacity for successful real estate development
- Provide the organization with resources to define a project concept
- Facilitate discussions to define the CDCs development role
- Provide recommendations on forming a development team
- Offer the agency options for managing the feasibility analysis phase
- Developing financing options and securing financing
- Managing the development phase
