Training
In
recent years, Philadelphia LISC has greatly expanded its
provision of training
sessions to other community development
professionals. Doing so has allowed us
to reach a large number of CDCs
and other organizations, growing their capacity
by building the skills
of their staffs. Newly equipped with expanded skill sets,
these
organizations are better able to increase the scale of their production,
improve the efficiency of their operations, broaden the scope of their
activities, and successfully impact the policy and economic
environment in the City.
Our training sessions cover a broad range of topics, from working with
consultants, to real estate development, to using technology in commercial
corridor revitalization. We identify regional and national experts, bringing
them to Philadelphia to share their experience and knowledge. To date, we have
trained hundreds of local community developers, and we have an ongoing program
of sessions planned throughout the next several months.
