Dana Hanchin serves as Deputy Director supports program staff and oversees LISC’s strategic priorities, business development, and community development lending.
Dana has spent over twenty years building and leading affordable housing initiatives in both the non-profit and public sectors in Philadelphia.
Prior to LISC, Dana served as the Director of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program at the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority. She has spent most of her career working for organizations dedicated to advancing affordable housing which includes, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, People's Emergency Center, Women's Community Revitalization Project, Reinvestment Fund, and the City of Philadelphia.
Dana first arrived in Philadelphia in 1992 to attend Temple University, earning a Master's degree in Urban Studies. She has called the City of Brotherly Love her home ever since. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Kent State University.
She and her wife, Dawn, live in East Falls with their rescue dogs, Lucy and one-eyed Dexter. When not working, Dana can be found riding her bicycle around the Delaware Valley, mixing fantastical cocktails, busting dance moves, or tending to her whimsical garden.
