The Center on Rural Innovation (CORI) is one of Rural LISC's newest partner organizations. Headquartered in Vermont, CORI is an action tank that recognizes the unique assets in rural areas around the country, assets that can create social and economic opportunities for America’s rural residents.
In 1992, Tunica County Community Development Coalition came into being as a group of thirty volunteers that worked on a special youth development program, and subsequently organized around addressing the need for affordable housing in the Mississippi Delta. Today it engages a full spectrum of activities in a comprehensive approach to community development.
Longtime Rural LISC partner Hawaiian Community Assets is playing a critical role in assisting with relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of recent natural disasters in the Hawaiian Islands, including Hurricane Lane, the Kilauea volcano eruption on the Big Island, and catastrophic flooding on Kauai.
