West Edge Condomiums open in Bozeman

Human Resource Development Council of District IX, Inc., Bozeman, MT, opens West Edge Condominiums.

The Montana Department of Commerce awarded Gallatin County over $6 million through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). NSP was created to address the negative ramifications of the nationwide housing crisis by assisting organizations to purchase and rehabilitate foreclosed or abandoned properties. Funding was used to acquire a 23-unit foreclosed property and construct 36 new affordable housing units in the City of Bozeman. Construction is now complete and Certificate of Occupancy has been granted.  A large portion of these units are available for purchase by households earning less than $30,000/year. The partnership between Gallatin County, the City of Bozeman and the HRDC to serve households at income levels typically not served by homeownership projects presents a tremendous opportunity for households hoping to own a home in the city.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on June 30, 2011,  on site at 228 Cottonwood Road.  Presenters included Commissioner Murdock, Jeff Rupp, President and CEO of the HRDC, Larry Watson, Gallatin County Grants Administrator, and new homeowners.  For news coverage of the ceremony, go here.
