The mission of the LISC AmeriCorps program is to transform distressed neighborhoods into healthy communities by placing AmeriCorps Members with Community Development Corporations (CDCs).

LISC AmeriCorps: Getting things done!

The LISC AmeriCorps program allows members to make a difference in San Diego neighborhoods and gain valuable work experience. Members make a direct impact by working to:

• Develop safe and affordable housing
• Strengthen resident groups and co-operatives                             
• Create needed programs for low-income youth
• Revitalize local economies and create access to economic opportunities for low to moderate income families
• Organize workshops on health, finance,and community resources
